R&D Engineer (Energy Efficiency)

Center of Energy Environment and Economy (CEEE/EÇEM) at Özyeğin Üniversity is looking for an engineer specialized on energy efficiency. The candidate is expected to be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and is passionate about contributing to sustainability solutions for built environment and industrial applications. Successful candidates will support the CEEE/EÇEM projects and their implementations in Turkey and elsewhere.

The requirements are listed below:

• BSc, MSc or PhD degree in mechanical or energy systems engineering,
• Minimum 3+ experience in energy efficiency, sustainability and decarbonization projects,
• Proven track record in working with modelling, simulation and optimization tools (especially for CFD, heat transfer or thermodynamical modeling),
• Solid knowledge on design and/or operation of modern thermal and renewable energy systems,
• Experience in simulation experiment design,
• Experience in Python programming language,
• Experience in international projects,
• Experience in consultancy services,
• Advanced writing, communication and presentation skills in English,

The following are highly desirable:

• Experience in building energy performance analysis related to built environment and HVAC systems,
• Experience in R&D and innovation management,
• Experience in data visualization tools or business intelligence solutions (Power BI),
• Knowledge on lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Developing technical recommendations for building and industrial energy efficiency,
• Carrying out performance and environmental impact analyses of building and industrial energy systems,
• Conducting simulations and calculations regarding to optimization and decision-making processes for energy efficiency measures,
• Doing Literature and market research on energy efficiency topics,
• Writing articles and blog posts on research outcomes,
• Assisting preparation and presentation of building and industrial energy efficiency projects,
• Contributing to the preparation of new proposals for international R&D programs.
• Facilitating strategic and sustainable energy management discussions with stakeholders, clients and project teams.
